Calling all drawers and doodlers! Campers will experience several different art media while improving their drawing skills and learning techniques to take their drawings to a new level.

Students will explore both 2D and 3D as they work through the steps of creating sculptures. This camp is wonderful for those who like to build and create things with their hands.

Studio 1776: Art & History Camp

Travel back in time for America’s 250th birthday. This special camp will combine hands-on history based activities with creative art projects to give your camper a glimpse into the past.

Designed with teens in mind, students will use a variety of media such as charcoal, pastels, paint, and clay. Campers will create hands-on art in a positive and encouraging environment.

Is your child partial to painting? If so, this camp is for you! Campers will learn how to mix paint colors and how to paint skillfully using various wet mediums.

Felt & Fabric Camp

This camp is perfect for anyone interested in getting creative with textiles! Campers will experiment with sewing, felting, and other techniques unique to working with fabric.

These camps will be held at our NEW Spark Science Center located at Abilene Heritage Square – OPENING MAY 2026!

POP! BAM! WOW! Soar into the Super World of Science and explore basic concepts in areas like physics, chemistry, and engineering with hands-on projects related to superheroes.

Get ready for a camp full of creativity, motion, and chain reactions! Campers will explore Newton’s three laws of motion through exciting challenges and experiments. They’ll use what they learn to design and build their own Rube Goldberg machine, a wacky, inventive contraption that performs a simple task in the most complicated way possible. Campers will think like engineers as they test, redesign, and show off their amazing creations.

This camp takes adaptations of fairy tales and fables and add an engineering twist. Campers must use their imaginations to generate design ideas, collaborate, and problem solve.

Dive into the colorful world where art meets chemistry! Campers will explore watercolor painting and discover how simple science concepts shape the art they create.

Robotics Camp

Get ready to build, code, and create! Campers will design and assemble their own robots, learn beginner-friendly coding, and tackle fun challenges that test problem-solving and teamwork.

Tips and Reminders

CAMP LOCATIONS:
PLEASE NOTE: Summer camps in 2026 will be held at three different locations. Art & History camps will take place at The Grace Museum (102 Cypress Street). Science camps will take place at the NEW Spark Science Center (1620 S. 3rd Street). Culinary camps will take place at AISD’s The Lift (2034 Quantum Loop)

SCHOLARSHIPS:
The Grace has limited scholarships available for art and science camps. Please contact Kathryn Mitchell for more information: educator@thegracemuseum.org.

MEMBER DISCOUNTS:
Grace Museum Members can enter this year’s online discount code at checkout to receive their member benefit of $25 off ALL summer camps. Members will receive their discount code via email prior to March 2 (it can also be found in our Artifacts Winter 2026 issue). PLEASE NOTE: Active membership status will be verified. Contact Sheila Scevers with membership questions or inquiries: administration@thegracemuseum.org.

REFUNDS:
There will be a $15 charge for ALL refunds on camps. We understand that plans do sometimes change and we are happy to initiate a refund should you need one. In order to guarantee a refund, PLEASE NOTIFY US 2 WEEKS PRIOR to the start of the camp you wish to cancel. Requests with less notice may not be granted. Camp refunds will be processed and mailed by check, minus the $15 cancellation fee.

FOOD ALLERGIES:
Snacks are provided at each camp (you may provide your own if you prefer). When you register, please let us know if your child has any specific food allergies.
