For over six decades, Maxine Perini was instrumental in advancing the arts, local history, and the work of nonprofits. She served as example of women in leadership roles, and she worked to improve her hometown of Abilene.
A Collection is Born
The Farmer is a vibrant oil-on-board painting capturing a hard-working farmer who likely posed in Mississippi during the Great Depression. The artist, Marie Atkinson Hull, instills a sense of hope in her depiction of the Depression’s local impact through her colorful, evocative style. The Farmer reflects years of Marie Hull’s developing skill as well as a bright beginning to The Grace Museum.
