Full Steam Ahead: Exhibition Reception
September 5 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us September 5 to celebrate our newest history exhibition!
6-8 PM | The Grace Museum | FREE EVENT | Light refreshments
Visitors can enjoy exploring the history galleries and delving into the beginnings and development of the T&P Railway in Abilene. There will be a special presentation that evening by Tony Privett of the Slaton Harvey House in Slaton, Texas where he will talk about the temporary exhibition on the Flying Scotsman, on view in The Grace Museum Ballroom from September 5-7.
This reception coincides with the highly anticipated Abilene Railroad Festival, which will be hosted by the Abilene Preservation League with several venues throughout downtown Abilene. During the festival, The Grace will host two presentations by Steve Goen, author and railroad historian, on both Friday, Sep. 6 and Saturday, Sep. 7 from 4-5 pm. A presentation by railroad author and photographer Ken Fitzgerald will also take place on Saturday at 11 am.
We will also have FREE train crafts and activities for families to enjoy on Friday and Saturday.
PLEASE NOTE: Festival registration is not required to attend the exhibition reception event.
