Grace Celebrity: Bill Wright

Bill Wright, photographer, author, and namesake to the Grace Museum’s dedicated photography gallery (with wife Alice), has donated over 700 fine art photographs and other works of art to the collection. In addition, the Grace photography collection features over 160 of his own photographs.

Wright has exhibited his photographs internationally in solo exhibitions and group shows, as well as throughout the United States. In addition, he has conducted many photographic workshops, gallery talks, and lectures. He is the benefactor of the Alice and Bill Wright Photography collection and gallery at The Grace Museum.

He has served on numerous national and state boards and committees including: The Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center Advisory Board, the Texas State Historical Association Executive Committee, the Texas A&M University Press Board of Advisors, The Sul Ross Center for Big Bend Studies Advisory Board, The School of American Research in Santa Fe, New Mexico Board of Managers, the Texas Commission on the Arts and was appointed to the National Endowment for the Humanities by President Reagan. He is a member and past president of the Philosophical Society of Texas. Bill Wright is a 2020 inductee to the Texas Institute of Letters.

Wright is the Co-founder of Western Marketing before his photography career, deceased wife Alice Wright, son Mitch, daughter Allison Wright Peeler.
