ABOUT THE ARTIST

Carlyn Ray is a nationally recognized glass artist whose work explores light as a language for connection, transformation, and storytelling. She is drawn to both the act of making glass – the molten, physical, and intuitive process – as well as the way glass holds light and shapes the human experience.

Ray’s practice spans fine art, large-scale site-specific installations, and community-engaged projects that respond to architecture, landscape, and the way people experience a space. Her works often draw on nature and rhythms, inviting viewers to pause and explore the light within ourselves and the world around us.

Participation is at the heart of Ray’s practice. She loves weaving community voices into her installations, inviting others to share their story or intention. This belief, that art is most powerful when shared, comes alive through her community glass studio, Dallas Glass Art, and non-profit Art Reaching Out, which provides STEAM-based glassmaking experiences for youth. 

Based in Dallas, Texas, Ray’s work can be found in public spaces, cultural institutions, and private collections across the country. For Ray, glass is a vessel for connection and reflection, where stories in glass unfold, and viewers discover their own inner radiance.

Carlyn Ray Designs specializes in bringing people into the creative process while fabricating exquisite art installations for both residential and commercial spaces. After training with the best glassblowers in the world, Carlyn Ray has established a studio in the Dallas Design District. She brings together a talented team of specialists to create unique designs that transform any space into something truly special.
